The Countdown

The last blog post was not a mistake, we are in fact heading to Ethiopia in a little over a week. Spare time has been spent packing and getting ready to travel. Hard to imagine what this journey will be like.

In the past weeks we cannot help but reflect on what brought us to this point. Last year at this time Adoption seemed out of reach. We can still remember going to our first meeting with an agency leaving thinking this process will take years and money that we don't have. This journey has been so much the opposite of that.

This journey although just beginning has been a series of signs and moments that cannot be traded for anything. From the moment that our dear friends told us that God had a bigger plan for us and HE is calling us to this. From the moment that amazing little Ethiopian girl looked at us with those big brown eyes as if to say you can help my brothers and sisters. From that first glimpse of this little girl named Millennium that came to us moments after saying that not our will be yours be done.

Who would have thought two kids from Ohio would be given the opportunity to have a family in this way. To be entrusted to be parents in this amazing way. Something we will never take lightly and engage in knowing fully we will not be the same people on the other side....

I can't even say how happy we are for you. I cry every time I read your blog. You and your baby girl are in our prayers.
