Back to the trip before we forget important info. Well this day is not hard to forget. We travel to the US Embassy. Taking Millennium from the care center into a van onto the most dangerous place to drive on the face of the earth.
We are sure it is not like this all the time but the pollution in Addis is out of control. You want to talk about global warming forget your reusable shopping bags and your hybrid car this place is polluting enough for about three Americas. Nothing against Ethiopia. If the infrastructure was in place and they were worried about other things than survival it would be priority.
With that said Magan began getting sick from the pollution. After arriving at the Embassy she proceeded to get sick on the security barricade out front. I guess if these were our delivery complications then we were doing pretty well. Plus she was nice enough to throw up on US soil.
The process inside the embassy went smoothly and was less formal than we had thought. Little Millennium passed her big test and we were simply waiting on the Visa paperwork to be able to travel to the USA! We returned to the hotel with Millennium and rested for the remainder of the day sick and worn out from the week. I am sure Millie was thinking her new parents were no fun but we had a nice day in at the hotel playing with her new toys and watching DVDs.
